Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Pre-Construct Archaeology Ltd at the Langdon School between the 18th and 25th of February 2011. Three trenches were excavated and revealed a sequence of terrace gravel deposits overlain by an alluvial clay sequence, with an additional layer of a peat observed within this sequence in the two trenches in the south of the site. The alluvium was sealed by 19th to 20th century made ground and landfill deposits. No archaeological features were encountered. |
