Abstract: |
Watching briefs were kept in August 2010 during excavation of two stretches of a trench for a pipeline serving a new hydro-electric scheme at Roroyere on the south side of Glen Lyon. One section of the pipeline passed close to the remains of what were probably lambing pens at NN 61075 46197 and NN 61064 46173 as well as an almost intact planticrue at NN 61031 46134. Another section ran within a short distance of the remnants of a substantial building, possibly a shepherd's house, at NN 61199 46601. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered in the trench at either location. |
