Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was conducted for Essex and Suffolk Water ahead of the installation of a water main between the parishes of Benhall and Snape in Suffolk. Despite the high archaeological potential of the land over which the route of the water main traversed, no archaeological features were encountered. A total of eight struck flints were recovered from the topsoil during the monitoring indicating prehistoric human activity in the vicinity. A number of post-medieval and modern metal detected finds were also collected, probably representing casual losses. |
