Abstract: |
In January 2011 Northamptonshire Archaeology undertook a trial trench evaluation of land to the south of Uppingham Road, Bushby, Leicestershire for CgMs Consulting. Two pits, one dating to the middle Iron Age, the other to the Roman period were found in the northern part of the proposed development area. They probably relate to settlement activity lying beyond the northern boundary of the site. The only other archaeological feature was a gully, probably of late medieval/post-medieval date, that is visible on the surface as a sinuous earthwork in the southern part of the site. Deep ridge and furrow earthworks were present in the western part of the proposed development area. |
