Abstract: |
In January 2010 an evaluation was carried out at Acacia House, Haddenhan, Cambridgeshire prior to the construction of four houses. Two trenches were excavated within the area of the proposed development; both trenches revealed a large build up of made ground with Trench 1 showing clear tip lines running north to south within the trench section. A possible medieval pit was revealed within the Trench 1 section as well as an Iron Age ditch and possible Iron Age posthole which were both revealed below the made ground cutting the natural strata. Two undated pits were revealed within Trench 2 as well as a medieval feature, all where revealed to be cutting the layers of made ground. |
