Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation consisting of seven trenches was carried out in late February and early March by Pre-Construct Archaeology Ltd at the former bus depot on Green Street in Forest Gate. With the exception of two quarry pits and a north-south aligned field boundary ditch all archaeological remains recorded were related to the bus depot which had been operating on site since 1906. The majority of the remains comprised brick sleeper walls and a single bus inspection pit related to the later phase of the depot's history following its rebuilding in 1936. |
