Abstract: |
Churston Mill House is a 19th-century corn mill which has recently undergone refurbishment for use as a dwelling. The Mill appears to have fallen into disuse as an industrial building in the early 20th century and subsequently functioned as a farm. Changes to the topography have obscured elements such as the leat, wheel pit and tail race. The recent survey identified the probable phasing of the Mill buildings which were probably rebuilt in about 1830-40, with subsequent alterations in the late 19th and 20th centuries. |
