Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief and metal-detector survey was undertaken during the excavation of footings for a new building to the rear of 13 Hodgson Lane, Birkenshaw, West Yorkshire. The site lies within the area of Adwalton Moor Registered Battlefield. However, no archaeological remains and no pre-modern finds were recorded.
