Abstract:
An archaeological watching brief was conducted for T Gill and Son(Norfolk) Ltd during groundworks assocated with the construction of a new school building. The archaeological monitoring has pruced evidence of almost continual occupation of the site since the 13th centuary, consisting of quarry pits and a hearth/oven bas, consistant with small scale domestic occupatin. no evidence of structures was recovered, but this mmay be due to 19th and 20th century trunction caused by the use of this site by the modern school. Not even the building shown on the 19th century Tithe Award and Enclosure maps had left any physical evidence of its existance.
