Abstract:
Four survey areas covered the four sets of cropmarks plotted by the RCHME. The two larger rectangular enclosures were located by the survey and, although only in the case of the western one was their internal configuration clarified. The two central smaller enclosures were hardly present, possibly as the result of intensive ploughing in the area. Five hundred and thirty-one trenches revealed a range of features, chiefly including Bronze Age ring ditches and Iron Age/Roman enclosures. More scattered features include a Neolithic pit, Roman pits and cremations; finds were scarce for all periods and preservation of the features was moderate.
