Abstract:		 A total of five deep Palaeolithic test pits were excavated within the general footprint of the proposed development area using a mechanical excavator, under constant archaeological supervision. No in situ Pleistocene deposits were found. The only Pleistocene deposit at the Site was coarse fluvial gravel, the base of which was reached at c. 2-3 m aOD, overlying Chalk bedrock. The gravel is part of one of several local terrace outcrops mapped as
