Abstract:		 Detailed magnetometry was carried out within two arable fields on the western edge of Stowupland in Suffolk. The results demonstrate the presence of a number of positive rectilinear anomalies forming two separate complexes of enclosures which contain further fragmented linear, rectilinear, curvilinear and discrete features within both fields. The features appear to have been truncated by phases of development and agricultural activity, and they are generally contained in the eastern parts of both survey areas. Further weakly positive linear, curvilinear and discrete responses can be seen elsewhere. It is possible that away from the main core of former habitation, the fill of cut features is less magnetically enhanced, and so it is possible that the full extent of the archaeological features is not clear in the data. Evidence for six former field boundaries, magnetic debris associated with an infilled pond and widespread discrete dipolar responses has also been located.
