Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in July 2016 on land to the rear of the Tall Ships Public House, Southgate Street, Gloucester. One trench was excavated. A thin deposit containing Late Roman ceramics was identified immediately sealing alluvial clays. This was in turn sealed by medieval and/or post-medieval cultivation soils that were subsequently cut by (now demolished) later 19th-century buildings. |
