Abstract: |
This report was commissioned by John Salvatore, Archaeological Consultant, on behalf of Ashcom Developments Ltd and was produced by Substrata in preparation for submission of a forthcoming planning application The magnetic contrast across the survey areas was low but sufficient to be able to differentiate between anomalies representing possible archaeological features and background magnetic responses. A total of seven magnetic anomaly groups were identified as pertaining to potential archaeology. Two of these can be related to buildings and a field boundary recorded on the Ordnance Survey 1889 1st edition map of the area but not on the subsequent Ordnance Survey 1905 1:2500 map. The remaining anomaly groups are typical of archaeological linear features such as former field boundaries or other enclosure boundaries. |
