Abstract:
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during topsoil stripping prior to Phase 5 of proposed gravel and sand extraction. Five pits, a hearth, a ditch and a solution hollow were recorded. One of the pits produced a sherd of 15-16th century pottery, and another contained a piece of burnt flint. The fills of a solution hollow produced a sherd of ceramic building material and a scraper.
