Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken on groundworks carried out during restoration of the property. The northern boundary of the site forms the assumed line of the medieval town defences. An undated stone structure, pre-dating the Friend's Meeting House constructed in 1823, was observed. It was likely that the structure was an element of the former medieval defences. [Au(abr)] |
