Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out within railway arches below the present, disused viaduct adjacent to Lee Street. Two trenches were excavated. A brick well and drain of 18th-19th century date are evidence of buildings cleared for construction of the railway in c.1870. These cut post-medieval land-raising dumps, which overlie an agricultural soil horizon and natural brickearth. |
