Abstract: |
GUARD Archaeology Limited were commissioned by South Lanarkshire Council to undertake the archaeological excavation, recording and backfilling of two trenches at either side of St. Luke's Cemetery Bell Tower, Carluke. This work was undertaken between 7th- 9th of December 2015, and revealed a possible foundation stone from the dismantled 17th century church as well as disarticulated human bone and possible coffin furniture associated with the graveyard and provisionally dated between Medieval and post-Medieval period. |
