The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 A watching brief was carried out by Wessex Archaeology during the drilling of five geotechnical window samples and two boreholes at the site of a former garage. To avoid petrol tanks, the interventions were located at the north and around the southern sides of the site. Backfilled voids, thought to be the infilled cellars of houses built before 1896, were encountered in two window samples toward the east corner of the site and possibly also in a third at its northern apex. Made ground was recorded in the two window samples at the south-west and south of the site and in the two boreholes. All except one intervention reached natural gravel. No archaeological deposits were recorded.
