Abstract:		 A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of foundation trenches. The aim of the watching brief was to identify and record evidence of prehistoric activity associated with the Palaeolithic site discovered at Fletton Road in 1908. Quarrying, extensive terracing, the development of the site in the 20th century and more recent groundworks had, however, significantly truncated and/or removed archaeological remains, and no such evidence was found.
