Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in June 2013 at Kingsway Hospital, Derby. A total of fourteen trenches were excavated. A number of ditches corresponding to anomalies identified through geophysical survey and representing a broadly north/south and east/west orientated field system were identified. these are dated to the post-medieval period, although it is also possible that some of the identified features may originate in the medieval period. The evaluation identified archaeological features in 6 of the 14 trenches excavated, with broadly north/south orientated furrows identified within all trenches. |
