Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was carried out by John Moore Heritage Services which identified evidence for prehistoric field enclosures underlying post-medieval ridge and furrow. Evidence for a potential medieval trackway was also revealed as well as a linear stone feature, possibly representing a drain, also sealed by ridge and furrow which was present across the investigation area. Later modern dump has created a height of land running north/south across the middle of the investigation area, up to 1m in depth. None of the archaeological features were recorded by the geophysical survey and the potential archaeological remains are poorly understood. |
