Abstract:		 Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd conducted a trial-trench archaeological evaluation on land at the former St Luke's Hospital, Woodside Avenue, Muswell Hill, as a condition of planning consent for the residential development of the site. Trial trenching revealed evidence for the post-medieval and modern development of the site. This consisted of ditches which may have been associated with the earlier post-medieval agricultural activity; garden features of the late 19th century houses; and concrete foundations of 20th century hospital buildings. No earlier remains were uncovered.
