Abstract: |
Two Late Iron Age sites, previously identified by geophysical survey, were located on the lower slopes above the floodplain of the River Ise. The first may have been a farmstead, comprising a small, roughly square enclosure and adjoining ring ditch, situated next to a possible droveway; the second was a larger, irregular enclosure that may have been used to hold livestock. With the exception of remnant medieval furrows and a 19th-century field boundary ditch, no other archaeological features were encountered in the trial trenches. |
