Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out prior to the development of a new supermarket on a site between School Road and the Tuach Burn, Kintore. Extensive medieval or post-medieval rig-and-furrow was evident. Between the furrows, a small pit was excavated; it was c. 2.15 x 1.52m and 280mm in surviving depth and contained some heat-shattered stones in the fill but little charcoal or evidence of in situ burning. Eight small sherds of Bronze Age pottery, including one tiny fragment of Beaker, were found in the upper fill. Further evaluation in the area around the pit showed no evidence of surviving related features. J C Murray 2014 |
