Abstract: |
An archaeological excavation was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in February and March 2013 on land at Church Road, Crowle, Worcestershire. Five areas were excavated. A single pit containing a small assemblage of Iron Age pottery was excavated. Two further small pits may have been contemporary, though they were undated. Medieval activity was represented by a single ditch and three shallow pits interpreted as possible clay extraction pits. These features contained medieval pottery dating to the 12th to 14th centuries, animal bone and a small copper alloy strap-end which may be part of a medieval book fastener. Two further undated ditches were recorded. |
