Abstract: |
Yaxley, Linden Lea Mellis Road (YAX 036, TM 1210 7438) evaluation trenching for a planned single dwelling development in the historic core of the village close to a listed building of earlier Post medieval date revealed three small features of later Post medieval date and two stray sherds of medieval coarseware pottery. These features are probably related to a wheelwright's workshop that occupied the site in the 19th/early 20th century period. It may also be noted that Linden Lea is a house of earlier Post medieval origin though now much altered and with Truss Farm House to the east may lie on the northern edge of a small road side green. |
