Abstract: |
An evaluation was undertaken prior to the development of a small housing estate. A small assemblage of non-diagnostic flints and prehistoric pottery was found at the south end of the site near the Tuach Burn. They were all in disturbed contexts and no prehistoric features were identified. The scatter of finds can be seen in relation to the known prehistoric settlements to the east at Midmill. Two small charcoal filled pits were radiocarbon dated to the 13th-14th century AD(SUERC -60681). Preserved timbers in a silted palaeochannel were of early medieval date (SUERC-60682).
