Abstract:		 A 39 trench evaluation in land to the south of St Georges Hospital (formerly Northumberland County Lunatic Asylum) which revealed evidence for a rectilinear enclosure of probable late Iron Age or Romano-British date. The enclosure was located within the south-west extent of the evaluation area. The evaluation was conducted in advance of a planning application for a proposed housing devlopment.
