Abstract: |
Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by FQ Contractors Ltd (the Client) to undertake an archaeological evaluation at 14 Peckham High Street, London, centred on National Grid Reference (NGR) TQ 33952 76697. Planning permission (09-AP-1512) with conditions (7 - Archaeology) was granted for the redevelopment of the Site for commercial and residential use. To address the condition an archaeological evaluation comprising the excavation of a single 5m x 2m trench to the rear of the existing building was undertaken on 9th and 10th Feb. 2011. No archaeological features or deposits were recorded. The trench revealed 0.83m of modern overburden directly overlying the natural brickearth. |
