Abstract: |
Stratascan were commissioned by Exeter Archaeology to undertake a geophysical survey. A gradiometer survey was carried out over a 1 ha site at South Molton. The objective was to locate any responses which may be of archaeological origin. Within the area positive linear anomalies were identified that could be related to cut features of possible archaeological origin. However a large number of anomalies relating to ferrous and magnetic objects that are most likely of a modern day origin were also discovered and may mask any fainter archaeological anomalies. Also a number of agricultural marks were seen in the south of the site in two clear orientations. |
