Abstract: |
Two evaluation trenches were excavated, revealing a sequence of undated alluvial deposits within the former River Tyburn channel overlain by a layer of organic material including refuse of 18th century date. Above this was c.3m of ground-raising deposits, truncated by the basements of the 18th\19th century buildings. |
