Abstract: |
In April 2018 Suffolk Archaeology Community Interest Company (SACIC) undertook a detailed fluxgate gradiometer survey on land for a proposed agricultural reservoir at Stutton Park, Stutton, Suffolk. A total area of 5.86ha was prospected for anomalies of an archaeological derivation within the footprint of the reservoir. The detailed fluxgate gradiometer survey recorded a narrow range of anomalies, the majority of which were categorised as being of a geological derivation related to the River Stour, which is located just 550m to the south. A few anomalies of archaeological potential, include a single ditch type response and a series of seven pits. Overall, the non-intrusive survey results reveal a low potential for magnetic anomalies of an archaeological origin. |
