Abstract: |
Following desk-based assessment, a watching brief was conducted by CAT on geotechnical site investigation at 32-42 High Street, Purley, Croydon CR8 2AA. This involved a small inspection pit by the site frontage and 7 boreholes (plus 2 starter-pits bottoming on concrete foundations) to the rear of the existing building. Front probably and rear certainly truncated to natural gravelly chalk (sometimes chalky flint gravel) Head deposits by c1980s construction. These deposits assessed as too coarse for significant palaeoenvironmental potential. |
