Abstract:		 Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by Barratt Homes Eastern Counties and David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties to undertake a programme of archaeological work in the form of a Strip, map and sample excavation totaling 2,372 sq m. This followed on from a previous phase of archaeological trial trenching which identified a concentration of undated features in the south west corner of the Site. During the excavation several linear features of post medieval and modern date were identified. These were found to relate to former land use as an Orchard consisting boundary ditches and ditches for improved drainage. A short section of gully was dated to the medieval period, no other associated features dating to this period were identified.
