Abstract:		 An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in July 2016 at Land at Restrop Road, Purton, Wiltshire. Seven trenches measuring 25m x 1.8m representing a 4% sample of the c. 0.84ha site were excavated. A single shallow modern gully was identified during the evaluation. No other features or deposits of archaeological interest were identified, and no artefactual material pre-dating the modern period was recovered. Anomalies of possible archaeological interest identified during a previous geophysical survey of the site were confirmed to be geological in nature.
