Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 6.7 hectares of grassland. A number of linear anomalies have been detected, one of which is a likely extension of an Iron Age/Roman settlement discovered to the north of Coventry Road. Further linear anomalies are more difficult to interpret, though may also be related to the Iron Age/Roman settlement. Ridge and furrow, evidence of modern ploughing and a trackway indicate the site has a more recent agricultural past. The remaining features are natural or modern in origin. The modern features include land drains, underground services, an area of made ground, scattered magnetic debris, and disturbance from nearby ferrous objects. |
