Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 11.4 hectares of mixed arable and grassland. The survey has identified an area of settlement activity reflecting the crop-marks noted in the desk-based assessment, an area of ridge and furrow cultivation, and a former enclosure present on mapping until 1955. A number of possible archaeological anomalies have also been identified, however these could relate to agricultural activity or be of natural origin. The remaining anomalies are of modern origin, relating to agricultural activity, scattered magnetic debris, ferrous objects and fencing. |
