Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 107.5 hectares of agricultural land. The survey has identified areas of former settlement features, former field boundaries and ridge and furrow cultivation. It is possible that there is more archaeology on the site than can be seen in the survey as areas may be covered by deep alluvial deposits. A number of possible archaeological anomalies have also been identified; however it is not possible to determine their origin with any degree of confidence. The remaining anomalies are of geological or modern origin, relating to agricultural activity, land drains, scattered magnetic debris, a track way, an underground service, ferrous objects and fencing. |
