Abstract:		 In November 2018 Archaeological Solutions (AS) carried out an archaeological evaluation on land at Gaughton House, The Green, Fornham All Saints, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk (centred NGR TL 836 673). The evaluation was undertaken in compliance with the initial requirements of a planning condition attached to planning approval for the proposed construction of 3 new dwellings with garages (St Edmundsbury Council Planning Ref. DC/18/1393/FUL). It was required based on the advice of Suffolk County Council Archaeological Service Conservation Team (SCC ASCT) The site had a particular potential for evidence of activity associated with the medieval and post-medieval settlement to be present, and for further evidence of prehistoric activity/monumental use of the landscape. The evaluation revealed modern (19th - 20th century features (pits, wall, part of a shed base, concrete etc).
