Abstract:		 A watching brief and excavation was carried out on a trench measuring 7.40m long by 2.50m wide and 2.0m deep for the foundations for the proposed new security bollards. It was located within an area of the Scheduled Ancient Monument: SAM13201, HA 1013411 Roman Amphitheatre, Guildhall Yard that leads from Gresham Street to the south in the City of London. A sequence of medieval dumps was sealed by the remains of a metalled yard surface, overlain by demolition dumps
