Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 14.7 hectares of arable farmland. No features of probable archaeological origin have been identified. A number of linear and discrete anomalies may be of archaeological, natural or agricultural origin. An area of past quarry activity has been identified, and is visible on aerial photographs of the site. The remaining features are natural or modern in origin and include areas of natural variation, scattered magnetic debris, evidence of modern ploughing, a track way, magnetic disturbance from nearby ferrous objects and magnetic spikes that are likely to be modern rubbish. |
