Abstract:		 This report presents the results of an archaeological evaluation undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group on behalf of North Lanarkshire Council, on the proposed site of a new link road located at Glenboig, North Lanarkshire NGR:(NS 7116 6849) (Centre). The evaluation consisted of the machine trenching of 600 m², 5% of the available 1.45 ha development area. A total of 725 m2 was originally required; however the presence of several live services reduced the area that could feasibly be evaluated. The evaluation was undertaken in an area of sloping, improved pasture. This had been extensively drained with modern ceramic pipes placed at 3.0 m intervals across the site. These drains all appeared to run down-slope towards the east. Neither significant archaeological features nor artefacts were encountered, and no further archaeological works are recommended, although this will have to be confirmed by the Stirling Council Archaeology Officer, advisor to North Lanarkshire Council.
