Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 11 hectares of agricultural land. No features of probable archaeological origin have been identified, despite the potential for prehistoric or Roman remains. A small number of linear anomalies may be of archaeological or agricultural origin, while two small discrete features may be related to former backfilled pits, or the line of a field boundary. The remaining features are natural or modern in origin and include evidence of ploughing, scattered magnetic debris, magnetic disturbance and magnetic spikes that are likely to be modern rubbish. A large area of made ground and track ways are related to the construction of the A428, and are masking any archaeology in this area. |
