Abstract:		 Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by F.E.Chase and Son Limited (the Client) to undertake an archaeological evaluation on a 0.35ha block of land located on the site of the former care home 'Whitehaven Lodge', Buttermere Close, Millbrook, Southampton, Hampshire. Eight trenches measuring an average of 8.0m by 1.80m were excavated of which seven encountered modern made ground directly beneath the turf to a depth below 1.20m. No archaeological features, finds or deposits were found.
