Abstract: |
Northamptonshire Archaeology (now MOLA) were commissioned to undertake archaeological excavation on a 1ha area of land in Adwick-le-Street. The site sits within a co-axial field system situated on magnesian limestone which was investigated piecemeal between 2000 and 2007 as part of the Redhouse development at Adwick-le-Street, Doncaster. A single ditch, aligned east-west, was observed within the excavation area. It extended eastwards from an enclosure (E1), which has previously been reported on (NA 2004). The enclosure is thought to have been used for livestock management in the Roman period. No finds were recovered from the ditch. |
