Abstract: |
The evaluation and subsequent mitigation comprised twelve trenches, each measuring 15m or 30m x 2m. Archaeological remains were recorded across much of the site. These are mostly ditches, but several discrete features including a hearth were also recorded. Two areas of activity were recorded. The archaeology is predominantly Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age (Beaker) but less obvious Late Bronze Age and Middle-Late Iron Age activity also exists. Features recorded include ditches that form parts of a north-west to south-east aligned coaxial field system with two probable alignments of trackway, tree clearance and associated discrete features from which settlement activity are inferred. |
