Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was conducted at Land at Kings Way, Burgess Hill, NGR 532875 119237, between the 4th and 7th April 2016. Fourteen trenches measuring 30m in length were excavated. Small quantities of residual worked flint were recovered from a number of features and the overburden. Evidence of an 18th century building, most likely that noted on the First edition OS map of 1813 was identified and included CBM and pottery. No evidence for an earlier structure was recorded, although this does not preclude its existence. |
