Abstract: |
Archaeology South-East was commissioned to undertake an archaeological watching brief during groundworks associated with the refurbishment of East Farleigh lock, East Farleigh, Kent. The mechanical reduction of a bank close to the lock was monitored. The bank itself proved recent in origin, but an underlying deposit of brick and clinker rubble may have formed part of the towpath associated with the lock, although this remains unproven. |
