Abstract:		 This report presents the results of an archaeological evaluation carried out by Archaeology South-East at Gamblemead, Fox Hill, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, incorporating the results of an adjacent evaluation carried out by Pre-Construct Archaeology (PCA). The work was commissioned by CgMs Consulting and was carried between March and May 2017. The evaluation comprised the excavation of eleven evaluation trenches measuring approximately 30.0m by 2.0m. The natural silty clay was recorded in all trenches beneath mostly undisturbed overburden deposits. Several undated features, including gullies, pits and ditches were recorded across the site. A ditch was recorded at the northern end of the site that produced a single sherd of Late Iron Age/Roman date. The overburden produced a small assemblage of prehistoric and medieval finds.
